Last December 8th, it was inaugurated by the mayor of Florence, Dario Nardella, with the nice participation of the Italian showman Renzo Arbore, the renewable energy-powered Christmas tree, which glows with energy produced by three spinner bikes. The tree is located in the “Cortile della Dogana”, inside Palazzo Vecchio and you can ride during the opening hours of the museum until January 6th.
The installation was done by WindKinetic ™ on commission by Enegan – an Italian gas and electricity provider – and provides an example of made in Italy human energy.
Windkinetic ™ has created a system capable of generating electricity by transforming the kinetic energy which is produced by riding the 3 spinner bikes on purpose modified.
The energy produced, besides lighting the tree, is monitored and measured in real time thanks to the WindKinetic ™ remote monitoring and control system for renewable energy.
The system, an excellence of the WindKinetic ™ production , is extremely versatile and customizable according to the needs and requirements.
In this particular case, a monitor has been placed beside the spinner bikes, showing the Wh produced from every single bicycle in motion and the total Wh produced starting from the moment of the inauguration.
Windkinetic ™ proposes the installation of human energy powered systems with for gyms, bike bar or green marketing initiatives in general.
